When I started this project in 1998, I was not trying to build a polished product. I was trying to keep life from disappearing into folders, emails, photos, travel notes, business files, and all the small pieces that usually become impossible to find when they finally matter.

I built Diary because memory alone is not enough. A life needs structure, proof, context, and a way to connect people, places, documents, media, and decisions without turning everything into chaos. Diary became the lived archive; Dossier became the people and context layer; DAM, GAS, Hub, and Cockpit Central grew because the work needed real tools, not just good intentions.

Today I see this work as my long-term operating model for a life lived across countries, time zones, properties, projects, and relationships. My job is to keep the vision honest: practical enough to run every day, disciplined enough to survive growth, and human enough that the technology never becomes the point by itself.

Leopold completed the 248-unit Bilanzbuchhalter course on 23 May 1996. He passed the final examination and achieved the formal qualification of geprüfter Bilanzbuchhalter on 28 June 1996; the diploma followed in July. His CV and current public professional profile present the international credential as Certified Management Accountant, issued in June 1996.

This was a bridge between the accounting and IT work he had already combined and the management-accounting, software, and ERP roles that followed. The qualification covered balance-sheet accounting, cost accounting, commercial and company law, finance, and tax law.

Leopold considers it one of the most significant formal achievements of his professional life. In his own interpretation, it established the discipline of understandable figures, traceable evidence, and accountable decisions that later carried into ERP implementation, property operations, automation, and Diary Suite.
